At the Brussels headquarters in Evere, over 900 employees oversee the wholesale sales & marketing of Toyota and Lexus vehicles, parts and accessories, as well as the European manufacturing and engineering operations.
At the Toyota Technical Centre in Zaventem, 850 colleagues work in R&D, Purchasing, and Production Engineering. Research and development undertakes body, powertrain, chassis and electronics design, the selection and testing of materials and components, engine evaluation, and the driveability characteristics of Toyota models.

Upon starting at TME, I was welcomed in this very open environment. Starting right during the Covid Pandemic was far from easy, but we made the best of it, and I was trained on the spot for the function. On my first day already, all my needed documentation and accounts were available and my laptop was ready, as the team was informed well beforehand to give them time to prepare all of this. Everyone really ensured that I felt as welcome as possible and provided me with support and feedback on my work and tasks.
One of my most favourite aspects of working at Toyota is their strong support towards diversity and inclusion. From the first day that I started I was told to just be myself and this also meant that it was much easier for me to open-up towards everyone as I did not have to cover my tattoos. Later In the summer it was even announced that the company was promoting the wearing of shorts to the office, as we had a very hot summer that year and they wanted the people that came to office to do so in more comfort (if allowed by function).
Applying for a job can be nerve-racking but I have experienced a smooth process when I joined Toyota Motor Europe as interim: from the application form submitted to the regular phone calls to keep me updated on my recruitment, until the final interview. Start People provided realistic expectations from the start, which helped me to make an informed decision about the job.
About my mission at Toyota Motor Europe, one of the things I enjoy most is the teamwork. People are supporting each other and if you don’t know something, there is always someone to guide you. I really enjoy this philosophy.
After the Philippines and Qatar, I moved to Belgium with my family in 2023. I started working for Toyota with a lot of enthusiasm. I see in Toyota the opportunity to develop myself professionally. I am a very open-minded and sociable person who enjoys the international and multicultural environment in the company.
My job at Toyota is to provide support on outsource onboarding and procurement. The things I like about it are the flexibility, the unconditional support of the wonderful colleagues, the opportunity to learn, to continue improving and to actively participate in the team's objectives. Kaizen (continuous improvement) is the culture.
